The UK is the place for tea - or is it? For tea lovers a trip to the UK is often a big deal; they might enjoy a trip to a well known tea shop or even splurge on afternoon tea at the Savoy or Ritz. However, if they are out and about in London (or anywhere in the UK) they will likely be served the UKs basic tea bag referred to as “Builders Tea” (what an insult to any builder!) – to make it drinkable milk and sugar are usually added in heaps.
Yet there is more than meets the eye to UK tea in 2022. There are a dozen specialty tea companies committed to advancing the discovery & experience of loose leaf tea throughout the UK. On October 14-16, UK Specialty tea brands have come together to launch “THIS IS TEA”. This is a three day tea festival in the heart of London at Canopy Market.
